The neighborhood
Sarria and Sant Gervasi are known as the “Zona Alta,” or uptown of Barcelona. It is a residential area where some of the most expensive property in Barcelona can be found and there are also many business head quarters, private schools, hospitals and universites, such as ESADE and IESE.
The lifestyle
The majority of the best international schools are located in or near this area. The fact that children can walk to school makes it very popular with affluent local families. It is also well connected with the centre of town by bus and metro. The area in general is tranquil and you can relax in one of the many parks and gardens that wind into the hills. You can even take a tram up to Mount Tibidabo and enjoy the best views of the city while you drink a glass of wine or read a book. The majority if the international schools and universities are situated in this uptown negihbourhood, which has a strong Catalan infuence.
